Hey Jude – Sing Out Choir in lockdown
We proudly present our lockdown choir video! We are Sing Out Choir for adults on the autistic spectrum or with a learning difficulty. We have been running for exactly 5 years thanks to a collaboration between One-to-One Enfield and the Music Therapy Tree.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we haven’t been able to sing together in person. Not everyone can access our zoom rehearsals or Facebook sing-a-longs. So as soon as we were able, our Choir Director Camilla made doorstep visits to record our choir members singing The Beatles’ Hey Jude, a choir favourite. The feeling of social connection and shared excitement has kept many of us optimistic over the past weeks. We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed making it!
Piano, filming and editing by Choir Director, Camilla Farrant. Song by Lennon & McCartney, 1968.
Thanks to Arts Council England for a grant from the Emergency Response Fund, which enables Sing Out Choir’s artistic endeavours throughout this period. Thanks to One-to-One Enfield for supporting our members socially, particularly right now. And mostly, thank you to every single member of Sing Out Choir; pictured in this video or not, you are my creative inspiration!
Just wanted to say how wonderful it was to hear & see the choir today. Great work everyone!
I miss all my One-to-One friends and especially my tai chi friends! Hope to see you again soon! Sally
